Sweeney’s D3 is the third generation of Sweeney’s in the business of food and drink. Like the generations before us, we stock food and drinks from around the world that we love. We are an Off Licence, Café and Deli, all the nice things! You can shop online or visit us in Dublin 3.
We hand pick each of the Wines, Craft Beers and Spirits you find on our shelves. We even created an entire Beer Room for you to explore. Everyone on our team has their own speciality and we are always happy to help!
In 2019 we renovated and added a seating area where you can get Upside Coffee, Pastries, Toasties or come to one of our regular Wine, Beer, Coffee or Food events.
Our ethos is to serve the local community the best quality products sourced as locally as possible.
Padraig
Padraig, also known as Podge, is the master and commander of the shop with an astounding knowledge of each and every single product on sale. Podge grew up working for his Grandad and his uncle in Dorset Street and finally answered his calling when he took over Lilac wines in 2017. Podge’s passion for Whiskey and craft beer can be seen on the ever expanding shelves!
Special Skill: Don’t quite know what you’re in the mood for… Podge knows!
Orlaith
Orlaith is passionate about food and most importantly cheese. As she is always so chirpy in the morning we gave her the early shift… caffine and a chat with Orlaith will have you set for the day.

Rory
Rory has a long history with wine, if not sitting enjoying a full bodied Italian Ripasso with some Cashel Blue he is out on his motorbike or watching other motorbikes. Always smiling Rory won’t steer you wrong with his favourite wines… he’s got good taste!
Special Skill: Living life to the fullest!
Tara
Tara is a qualified wine expert and joined us from the restaurant industry. Tara is always happy with a delicate glass of burgundy or a low intervention wine that expresses its pure fruit character.
Special Skill: Tara has a highly developed palate and creates the most amazing food and wine pairings
Keith
Keith is our in house wine specialist and holds a particular love for the Italian and French classics. A keen cyclist he has cycled through many a vineyard and wobbled safely home afterwards.
Special Skill: Making sure every appellation in the world is in stock for him to enjoy and maybe for customers too.
Joe
Joe is a man of many talents, he makes the perfect coffee every time but is also a whizz in the beer room. If its not coffee, Joe can be found sipping on a traditional English bitter ale or a neat Scotch
Lynn
Lynn is our early bird, always on the early shift she will make you an amazing coffee to get you through any early morning.
Justin
Justin loves beer and has an anecdote for manys a beer in the fridge. He is also our head cheese taster so if you have a foodie question he is the one to ask.
