Apostolos Thymiopoulos Naoussa Alta

Made from a few parcels of vines at 450-650M around the village of Fytia, tempered by sea and mountain breezes. This is very elegant wine with fine grained tannins, it has red and cherry fruit with notes of cedar, rose petal and wild herbs (mint and thyme). A lovely medium bodied wine to be enjoyed with tomato and lamb dishes like Moussaka, grilled pork and lamb or hard mature cheeses.
Thymiopoulos has been growing grapes in the village of Trilofos in Northern mainland Greece for generations. The vineyards are relatively cool climate located in the foothills of Vermio mountain. Since taking over in the early 00’s Apostolos Thymiopoulos initiated low intervention techniques in the vineyard and the cellar; they farm organically and biodynamically and only use small amounts of sulphur at the bottling stage.
