This wine is a limited edition commemorating the 50th anniversary of El Coto de Rioja and a tribute to the origins and the pioneer winemakers in Rioja. Inspired by their craft in combining the best from the different areas of the region, the wine is a blend of grapes coming from three of their own vineyards, each representing one of the three sub-zones within the DOCa Rioja. Aged 18 months in new American oak barrels, the wine is then bottle-aged for at least 18 months for added elegance and refinement.
90% Tempranillo & 10% Graciano. An intense cherry red color with garnet edge, we get aromas of sweet spices, cacao and ripe fruit, giving it complexity. Meaty mouthfeel and very long finish, pleasant, balanced with good acidity and ripe tannins. Pair w/ game, steaks and other red meat as well as smoked cheese
