Iuli’s hallmark sleekness is combined with the ethereal aromas and firm structure of the nebbiolo grape. Fine, persistent red-berry and floral notes backed by crunchy minerality and lifted acidity. Textured and full, with complexity gained over two years in barrel.
Fabrizio Iuli calls himself a ‘barberista’ because of his love and dedication to the barbera grape. His aim is to reflect the territory and the nature of the grape as much as possible. ‘Malidea’ is the name of the hill that separates the nebbiolo vines from the barbera vines. The word means ‘bad idea’, which immediately appealed to Fabrizio’s sense of humour.
