Ben Haines is part of a new generation of winemakers, making fresher, more terroir drive wines in Australia's Yarra Valley. He aims to make wines that express 'the vineyard in a glass', shining a light on the patchwork of different vineyard expressions in this unique growing region. These are approachable, energetic wines that are far removed from the heavy Australian wines of the past.  

Ben Haines Syrah 2022 is a medium-bodied, highly perfumed Syrah that showcases the distinct characteristics of the Miners Ridge vineyard in the Grampians region of Victoria, Australia.
This wine is fresh and savoury, with aromas of fragrant herbs, blue flowers, bramble, and graphite. On the palate, it delivers supple fruit and mineral accents, supported by a structure that promises both youthful vibrancy now and longevity in the cellar.
The winemaking process involves 100% Syrah, de-stemmed for whole berry fermentations via ambient yeast, followed by aging in a combination of large and small barrel formats, plus stainless steel for seven months on lees before bottling without fining or filtration.
