Catena Zapata Malbec Argentino 2020
Catena Zapata Malbec Argentino is made from a meticulous vine selection in the best lots of the Catena family’s estate vineyards. These Zapata vines are carefully hand tended and produce extremely low yields. The grapes are micro-fermented in French oak barriques and the wine is then aged for 18 months in new French oak. No matter what the vintage, this wine is really more than 100 years old. It represents a family's ambitions to produce an Argentinean Malbec that can stand with the great wines of the world. Argentino's iconic label pays tribute to Malbec’s history in France and its rise in Argentina as well as telling the story of the Catena family's epic journey from the Southern Italy to the foothills of the Andes over four generations ago.
An explosion of luscious dark fruits, mocha and tobacco on the nose, while the palate offers layers of cassis, blackberries and spice all wrapped up in smooth tannins with a delicious, lingering finish.
