Chateau du Cedre Extra Libre Malbec

A pure, additive-free expression of Malbec from the limestone terraces of Cahors. Made by the Verhaeghe brothers with minimal intervention, this wine showcases the grape’s natural vibrancy and depth.
Appearance: Deep purple with a youthful glow.
Nose: Aromas of cassis, dark cherry, and blueberry, lifted by dried flowers, fresh mint, and wild herbs. Subtle hints of fennel and salami add intrigue.
Palate: Medium-bodied and succulent. Juicy black fruits layer over savoury notes of liquorice and spice. Silky tannins and fresh acidity give structure and lift, with a spicy, refreshing finish.
Vinification: 100% Malbec, wild yeast fermentation, aged one year in large oak casks. No added sulphites.
Pairing: Ideal with cured meats, roast lamb cutlets, or a paprika-spiced bean and halloumi stew.
