A powerful and elegant expression of Cahors Malbec, sourced from old vines on limestone-rich soils. ‘Le Cèdre’ is the domaine’s top cuvée, aged in oak for depth and longevity.
Appearance: Deep purple core with a garnet rim. Dense and youthful.
Nose: Aromas of ripe blackberries, plum, and cassis, layered with dry spice, cedar, and a touch of graphite. Subtle oak and earthy undertones add complexity.
Palate: Full-bodied and structured. Concentrated dark fruit flavours are framed by firm tannins and fresh acidity. The texture is muscular yet refined, with a savoury finish of spice, tobacco, and crushed stone. Still youthful—best decanted or cellared further.
Vinification: Manual harvest, long maceration, aged in French oak barrels (partly new) for 22–24 months. Minimal intervention to preserve terroir expression.
Pairing: Ideal with grilled lamb, duck confit, or mushroom risotto. Also excellent with aged Comté or hard cheeses.
