Ten minutes from Blaye and its world renowned citadelle (on the World Heritage UNESCO list), Château MONCONSEIL GAZIN is among the oldest wine buildings in the area.
The estate is situated on one of the best sites on the limestone escarpment of Blaye - the hill above the village of Plassac.
The proximity to the Gironde Estuary, clay/limestone soils, and free-draining, south-facing slopes all combine to make a beneficial microclimate for maturing their grapes.
The combination of great terroir and meticulous winemaking produces wines of a consistently high quality year after year, recognised by a long track record of awards.
The estate founded in 1894 is now run by Jean-Michel Baudet, a 5th generation winemaker, and his wife Françoise, who are deeply committed to the quality of their wines, as well as to the promotion of the wines in the region of Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux.
