Turcaud Blanc is a blend of Sauvignon (50%) with Semillon (45%) and a touch of Muscadelle. It is a very classy wine, vividly fresh with appealing Sauvignon character. Lively orange, pineapple and floral – rose - flavours on the nose are followed by notes of grapefruit and lime on the palate. Often overlooked, Bordeaux's whites are a hidden gem and this is worth a try.

CHÂTEAU TURCAUD, La Sauve
Maurice Robert bought Château Turcaud in 1973. At the time, it consisted of an old rundown house, 18 ha of land, only a third of which was planted with vines. For years, Robert split his time between his day job at Lurton and Château Turcaud. Today, and after much effort and hard-work the property, located 25 km south of Saint-Emilion, is an immaculate 45-ha vineyard, planted on gravely slopes, the house, now completely renovated, adjoins the meticulously maintained and well-equipped winery in the back. Stéphane and Isabelle Le May (Maurice Robert’s daughter) are now in charge.
