Domaine Matrot Meursault 2020

This 2020 Meursault Village comes from 12 parcels and sees no new oak (barrels one to five years old). A delicious touch of honey in this otherwise dry wine gives extra richness to the generous texture with its gentle spice from wood aging and juicy acidity.

Thierry Matrot, along with his wife Pascale, is the third generation at Domaine Matrot in Meursault. He has faithfully maintained the spirit of the terroir throughout the years. Technology has made things easier, but the winemaking philosophy has changed very little. 'The vinification is about the same', Thierry Matrot explains. 'I don't use new oak for the village wines and the premier crus. I try to work with the terroir; I try to keep the character of each vintage. And my father worked in the same way.'
