This Barbaresco is elegant and structured, with a fiercely independent character. This isn’t a Barbaresco that wants to mimic its cousin Barolo, but a wine that demands respect for its full, strong identity, from vineyard to cellar. This is the wager of a Barolo producer grabbing the chance to come to terms with a historical wine, a supreme expression of the Langhe hills.

Made from Lampia a sub-variety of Nebbiolo from vineyards around the village of Neive, the wine is ruby red in colour with light garnet highlights. Great finesse on the nose, harmonious and complex. Sensations of ripe red fruit and violet, with spicy undertones. Enveloping tannins, great elegance, sapidity and persistence on the palate.

Pair with fresh pasta with light sauce or Langhe white truffle, roasted white meat or soft cheeses.

2019's vintage capped off a trio of outstanding vintages for Barbaresco and Piemonte in general with outstanding purity of fruit and a sense of the unique terroir. Often overlooked for its neighbour Barolo you can find complexity, vibrant acidity and undeniable value in the younger Barbaresco region.
