F.E. Trimbach Clos Sainte Hune
Clos Sainte Hune is one of the world’s most iconic dry Rieslings—a 1.67-hectare monopole within the Rosacker Grand Cru, owned by the Trimbach family for over two centuries. The 2018 vintage, marked by warmth and ripeness, delivers exceptional power, precision, and ageing potential.
Appearance: Pale straw with green reflections. Brilliant clarity.
Nose: Intense and mineral-driven. Aromas of Seville orange, grapefruit, and white peach are layered with crushed stone, flint, and a delicate touch of petrol. Floral and grassy notes add lift.
Palate: Bone dry and tightly wound. Citrus and stone fruit glide over a stony, saline backbone. The elevated alcohol (14.5%) adds weight and texture, amplifying the wine’s presence while remaining balanced by vibrant acidity. The finish is long, savoury, and structured for decades of evolution.
Vinification: Hand-harvested from limestone-rich soils. Fermented in stainless steel, aged on fine lees. No oak. Bottled with 4 g/L residual sugar and 14.5% alcohol.
Pairing: A natural match for shellfish, sashimi, or goat cheese. Also excellent with Alsatian classics like choucroute or tarte flambée.

- 94 points – CellarTracker average user score
- 93+ points – Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate: “Powerful, dense… compact phenols still cage this dormant Riesling on a stony and saline bed.”
