A sophisticated red wine from the Douro Valley in Portugal, crafted by avant-garde winemaker Luis Seabra. This Xisto Cru (meaning raw schist) is an field blend of indigenous varieties, including Touriga Franca, Rufete, and Tinta Carvalha, sourced from centenarian vineyards planted in mica schist soils. The wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts and is aged for 18 to 24 months in used French oak barrels to preserve its pure terroir expression. It features a dark ruby color and mineral-driven aromas of red berries, forest floor, green herbs, and smoke. On the palate, it is remarkably fresh and refined with lively acidity, firm tannins, and a persistent finish marked by wet stone and dusty minerals. Ideal for pairing with roast beef, game, or mushroom-based dishes.
