Magoutes Vieilles Vignes Blanc
The Magoutes winery sits in the rugged, mountainous area of northwestern Macedonia in the Naoussa appellation which is famous for its Xinomavro, a highly versatile grape. Cultivation is organic and all vineyard and cellar work is artisanal. The climate of the area is superb for growers and winemakers who favour a “hands-off” approach. . Low intervention winemaking features spontaneous fermentations, with no enzymes,
clarifiers or other manipulations, so that the vines can express the natural characters of their specific varieties and terroirs.
Pale lemon in colour, this Vieilles Vignes 2021 from Magoutes shows pronounced aromas of green fruits, citrus, stone fruits, floral notes and an elegant flintiness. The wine is dry, with a balanced acidity and alcohol. It is medium bodied and shows a creamy texture.
