Mazzei Ser Lapo Chianti Classico Riserva
With this outstanding Chianti Classico Riserva, the Marquis Mazzei celebrate their notable ancestor Ser Lapo, author of the first official document mentioning “Chianti wine” (December 16th, 1398).
"Ser Lapo shows blackberry, blackcurrant and a savory note of toasted spice. This is a more elaborate, hot-vintage expression with extra heft and pulp. Sangiovese is blended with 10% Merlot and aged in barrel for 12 months. You can up the food-pairing possibilities with this bottle to include wild boar or stewed rabbit, thanks to the wine's generous, mid-weight texture." Monika Larner, The Wine Advocate, 2023
Fresh, tannic, with aroma of berries, strong structure, earthy and intense taste
