Niepoort Dry White Port
White port macerated with the skins with long aging in barrels.
Niepoort Dry White has a golden color with brown touches and a delicious aroma of nuts and almonds that can also be noted on the palate. On the palate it is concentrated with a spirited finish that is typical of a product aged in barrels.
The vines have an average age of 30 years old and are planted in shale soils. The planting density of the plots ranges from 4,000 to 6,000 plants per hectare and the harvest is carried out manually to take the best care of the grapes.
The Niepoort Dry White vintage ferments in presses and macerates for a long time with the skins. It is occasionally pressed to extract compounds from the skins. It ferments until there is about 50gr / l of sugar left and then wine alcohol is added. Finally the wine ages in the Vila Nova de Gaia cellar for a minimum of 3 years.
Niepoort Dry White is a wine made in the traditional style that macerates with skins for a long time. The final coupage includes different wines aged in oak with an average aging of three and a half years.
