This wine is made with Tempranillo (90%) and Graciano (10%) grapes from the village of Ábalos. The grapes are fermented destemmed but uncrushed with indigenous yeasts. 90% of the wine is matured in 500 litre oak barrels for 12 months, with 10% kept in concrete. This method retains a wonderful freshness in the wine. Cherry red in colour this wine has warm spice and toast on the nose. On the palate the wine shows a delicate balance between tannin and ripe red fruit with flavours of blackberries, liquorice and a floral hint of violet.

Artuke is a family run winery in Baños de Ebro. They have 17 acres of vines in Rioja Alavesa. Their wines have a marked personality, blending the traditions of their ancestors into the wines made in their modernised winery.
