Mario Schiopetto Friulano
Traditional wine with a strong typicality and personality, obtained exclusively from Friulano grapes, the historic vineyards of the Collio Goriziano planted in a ventilated hilly area and in mainly marl soils of Eocene origin.
Bright straw yellow, with gold-greenish reflexes. Outstanding nose, with intense aromas of pear and apricot, barely perceivable the classic almond; further aromas of wildflowers help to give more complexity. The palate is full-bodied, dynamic with an aristocratic balance deriving from an excellent fusion between of its freshness and marine notes.
Excellent as an aperitif, the wine is well matched with San Daniele ham, egg and asparagus dishes. Can also be a worthy match with Asian food.
Mario Schiopetto has revived wine making in his region, reintroducing the idea of small wineries making and selling their own wine true to their region, muted by the growing international popularity of Pinot Grigio in the 80s and 90s.
