Stephane Montez St Joseph 'Cuvee du Papy' 2018

Stéphane Montez's family have been growing grapes in the northern Rhone for ten generations. 'Cuveé du Papy' is made in honour of Stéphane’s grandfather.

A little further south from Côte Rôtie and Condrieu is the equally spectacular, less famous and therefore less expensive St Joseph. Still in the northern Rhône, this 100% Syrah spent 24 months in 600 litre barrels known as 'demi-muids'. This wine has been lovingly created from a selection of the best grapes, from the best vineyards, using the best barrels.

The purity of northern Rhône Syrah and the delicate perfume of violets shine through. Stunningly juicy, fine, impressively concentrated dark fruit nose seasoned with toasty oak.
