Weninger Kirch Blaufrankisch

A distinguished red wine from the Burgenland region of Austria, crafted from 100% Blaufränkisch grapes grown on vines up to 60 years old. Produced by Franz Weninger using biodynamic practices, this single-vineyard wine is characterized by its vibrant acidity, spicy floral aromas, and medium body. It undergoes spontaneous fermentation in concrete or foudre before aging for 14 months in neutral barrels. On the palate, it features notes of sour cherry, black olives, and dark berries, supported by fine, powdery tannins and a stony mineral depth. Bottled unfiltered and unfined with minimal sulphur to preserve its pure, elegant character.
